John M. George Scholarships

Each year, George School awards seven John M. George Quaker Scholarships to new students who demonstrate strong interest in their monthly meetings and in Quaker concerns. This will include five $2,000 awards for new boarding students and two $1,000 awards for new day students. This is a merit, or recognition, scholarship that is awarded independent of financial need. It is offered each year the student is enrolled at George School, provided he/she continues to demonstrate the qualities for which the award was originally granted.

George School’s Admission Committee makes its selection based on the admission application and recommendations from the clerk of the student’s monthly meeting. Recipients must be affiliated with a monthly meeting and have their Meeting clerk send the Clerk Recommendation Form to George School before the admission deadline listed on the form. Other criteria for receiving the scholarship include participation in community service and academic achievement.

You will automatically be considered for the John M. George Scholarship if you have met the priority admission application deadline and the clerk of your Meeting has submitted the Clerk Recommendation Form.
