Do you have a waiting list?

From time to time, we have a waiting list for some age groups. Contact us to inquire about our current availability.

Do the children go outside to play?

As a play based program located on the beautiful 240-acre George School campus, you will see our children outside almost every weekday. We love to explore our world in all sorts of weather.

Do children have to nap?

Each classroom has a quiet naptime. Children who do not sleep rest quietly on their mats and may be offered quiet activities or books.

Do you teach children about Quakerism?

No, but we will teach children about the things we believe. We will teach about simplicity, non-violence, respect for others, and the ability to make a difference in the world.

Do you have a high level of staff turnover?

Our staff is very stable. Some of our teachers have been with us for more than ten years.

What are the staff qualifications?

The Children’s Center Director has a Director’s credential, as well as a doctorate in education with a specialization in early childhood and special education. Most of our teaching staff have education degrees or Child Development Associate credentials.

Do the teachers have training in first aid and CPR?

The center provides bi-annual training for all staff.

Do you offer after-school-care?

Not at this time.

Tuition is payable in monthly installments through the Sandbox software program. Payment can be made with credit card, direct debit, or check.

Do you serve lunch and snacks?

Children bring their own lunches and families are asked to bring one snack per month for their child’s class. The center will provide snacks on days families do not bring the snack.

How do you handle food allergies?

We are a peanut/tree nut aware center. We do our best to keep our center nut free. Children with allergies must have a Food or Allergy Special Care Plan in place and all staff in the center are trained in the use of EpiPens.

Are there any additional fees?

There is a yearly snack fee. Occasionally there are other activity fees.

Do you participate in the Keystones Star program?

Yes, GSCC is a STAR 4 center. Learn more.
