Register for our Celebration for Accepted Students
Plan to attend the Celebration for Accepted Students on either Tuesday, April 2 or Thursday, April 4. It is a party in your honor after all! Choose the date most convenient to you. Boarding students are invited to an overnight experience the evening before the date you choose to attend.
What to expect: You will experience what it’s like to be part of George School. You will go to classes, eat in the dining hall, attend meeting for worship, participate in all of the things our current students do, and end the day with a special celebration in your honor.
The day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends by 4:00 p.m.
When you register for the Celebration for Accepted Students, you also have the opportunity to register for an overnight experience that begins the evening prior to the day you choose to attend. You will arrive at 5:00 p.m. and get a taste of residential life at George School. Overnight spots are limited, so please register early!
What to pack:
- A sleeping bag and pillow – we will provide inflatable mattresses!
- A towel
- Clothes for an overnight and next day
- A phone charger if you will be bringing a phone
- Your completed medical form
Parents and Families:
We hope you will join your child at the event because the celebration is for you too! Parents will attend a class, learn about meeting for worship, meet our faculty and staff dedicated to helping students thrive, and learn about all the ways we ensure students grow, stretch, learn, and feel loved and supported.
The George School Parents Association invites you to a parents-only reception the evening prior to the celebration day you choose to attend. For families visiting from out of town and staying at nearby hotels, we will provide transportation to and from the event. Further details will be provided in your registration confirmation email.

International Students: Submit Your I-20 Information
As an international student, you must obtain an I-20 form George School and a F-1 student visa from the US government. It can take weeks to process your requests, so leave yourself as much time as possible. After you have completed your enrollment paperwork, you will need to submit:
- A photocopy of the biographical page of your valid passport for travel to the United States. The validity date must be at least six months beyond the student’s intended period of stay in the United States.
- Financial evidence that shows the student’s parents have sufficient funds to cover the tuition and living expenses during the period of intended study.
- Completed name verification document. The I-20 will be mailed to you via DHL to that address.
- For students transferring to George School from another academic institution in the United States: Completed transfer-in form.

Plan travel arrangements around these dates as students cannot change the times of their end-of-term exams to accommodate travel.

Activate your Parent Login for My George School
Your login and password for our portal—My George School—gives you secure access to online information and services at George School. Test it and explore the portal when you receive an email with instructions from IT Services. Do not, under any circumstances, share your login credentials with your child.
Review and Update Health Information
Make sure that you also acknowledge these items on the My George School portal, as they are required for your child’s participation in all school activities.
Schedule an Annual Physical
All students must have an annual physical exam between March 1 and August 1, 2019 before the start of the school year. If you miss the August 1 deadline, you will be charged a $100 late fee.
Please take the physical form and all other applicable forms available on the portal to your physician.
Verify and Complete Student and Family Contact Information
Login to the My George School portal to verify and complete your contact information:
Because email is the primary way George School communicates with parents, it is important that all parents submit a current email address in order to receive vital information.
Submit Foreign Language Proficiency Forms
If your child plans to continue studying Chinese, French, Latin, or Spanish at George School, have their current language teacher complete the appropriate language proficiency form before May 6, 2019.
Forms should be mailed or faxed back to George School using the contact information shown at the bottom of the forms.
Complete Advisee Profile Form
Please complete the Advisee Profile. This form will be shared with your child’s advisor, who will work closely with you and your child throughout their time at George School. The Advisee Profile will give the advisor information about your child’s personality and preferences, making sure that he or she has the best possible experience both inside and outside the classroom. Note that advisor assignments will be sent in August.
Complete Roommate Survey
To help us in the roommate pairing process, please fill out this survey. George School considers many factors in the rooming process, and dorm and roommate assignments will be sent in August.
Make First Tuition Payment
George School offers an online service, GS Accounts Online, which allows parents to access their accounts via our secure website portal.
Upload Photo for Community Directory
Please upload a photo for inclusion in the Community Directory.
Select Course Options
Please fill out the Course Selection form in order to choose your child’s language, arts, and athletics/PE classes. This information, along with the results of skills assessments, will help us complete your child’s course list.
Review Student Health Plan Enrollment Form
The George School Student Health and Wellness Center must know by July 1, 2019 whether you have private health insurance coverage for your child. If you do, please upload a copy of the front and back of your insurance card.
International students who do not provide us with insurance coverage will be automatically enrolled in the ten-month United Healthcare Insurance plan provided through by George School. We do not accept travel insurance policies.
Request Final High School Transcript
Every new sophomore, junior, and senior needs to complete the High School Transcript Request Form. Please give it to your current school when the 2018–2019 year is over so that we have a final transcript from your previous school for our records.
Review and Acknowledge the Community Handbook
The George School Community Handbook includes information about the facilities and services available at George School and the specific policies and procedures that are in place to enact our mission and core values. Both parents and students must read and acknowledge having read the handbook by August 1, 2019.
You can read the Community Handbook on the My George School portal. Once you and your child have read the handbook, parents must submit their acknowledgement here and students must submit their acknowledgement here.
Set Deans' Office Permissions
Parents may give permission to their child for off-campus visits and automotive travel. They may also give permissions to other family members or friends to grant permissions in the parents’ absence. These permissions can be changed at any time in our secure portal.
Complete Record Release Acknowledgement
We require your permission to share grade reports with individuals or programs as well as to send transcripts to schools, colleges, or summer programs. Please acknowledge your permission to release these records.
Students will need textbooks for the first week of classes. Starting on August 1, you may purchase textbooks from Follett Virtual Campus, which offers a range of options online for used books, book rentals, and e-books. Textbooks may be shipped to a home address or directly to the George School Post Office. Textbook orders over $99 placed between August 1 and August 14 will receive free shipping.
Materials for some courses (predominantly English and math) are available through the School Store, but the store does not stock most textbooks. When the Follet Virtual Campus page opens on August 1, you will be able to access a customized list of courses and books for your child. Course notes will indicate whether materials can be purchased through the George School Store.

Make Sure Your Student Has a Laptop
Create Student Debit Account
Parents may establish a spending account for their child to make cash withdrawals at the student bank and Deans’ Office (evenings and weekends) and for their child’s purchases at the school store and snack bar (Bettye’s Place).
If you would like to make a deposit with a physical check, please print and complete this form and return it with a check to the George School Business Office.
You may also make an electronic deposit.
Set School Store Permissions
Parents can specify the types of purchases their child is authorize to charge to the parents’ GS Account Online. The George School Store and Bettye’s Place in Marshall Center sell books, school supplies, toiletries, sports equipment, athletic clothing, and snacks.
Complete Laundry Service Agreement
There are two options for student laundry. Individual machines for student use are in the dorm and are used with a laundry card. A wash and fold service is also available for $340 for the entire school year. You may sign up online for the wash and fold service.
Register a Bicycle
If your child plans to bring a bicycle to campus, they must print and complete a Bicycle Registration form, bring it and the bicycle to campus, and take it to the Physical Plant Office to receive a decal for identification.
