Field Hockey Captures Quaker Cup

The George School varsity field hockey team defeated Friends Select School 5-0 to win the Quaker Cup. The Cougars were aggressive from the start, knowing that their regular season game against the Falcons ended in a hard-fought 1-1 tie.

Isabella Robinson-Cloete ’20 led the scoring with two goals and one assist. Individual goals were scored by Ada Rose Wagar ’21, Anjali Amin ’22, and Emily Matson ’20. Eve Kinnel ’20 notched three assists and Kate Hunter ’20 one assist.

Goalie Susan Robinson-Cloete ’20 had five saves from five shots on goal. This was her sixth shutout of the season.

Isabelle led the team in scoring in the season with twelve goals. Eva led the team in assists with nine.

“The team as a whole played hard for each other today,” said Nancy Bernardini, varsity coach. “Every player stepped up in the game. I am so proud to have these players on our team as they represent George School so beautifully!”
