George School welcomed over 500 alumni and friends back to campus for Alumni Weekend from Friday, May 6 through Saturday, May 7. The rainy weather did not stop excited classmates from reuniting, smiling, celebrating achievements, rekindling friendships, and reminiscing about their warm and nostalgic memories from George School.
George School’s new Director of Alumni Engagement Jessica Harms was overjoyed to meet the alumni and friends who make George School such a special place. “It was great to see such an amazing turnout for Alumni Weekend despite the rain. It was heartwarming to see classmates reunite—sharing smiles, embraces, and laughs with one another. I am honored to witness their legacy and be a part of a community like George School.”
This year’s event reverted back to its traditional in-person format with activities for the whole family. The weekend kicked off with a Friday evening welcome reception in the Mollie Dodd Anderson Library where guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and togetherness.
Saturday morning brought the All-Alumni Gathering in the meetinghouse with opening remarks from Head of School Sam Houser, the honoring of this year’s retirees Nancy Zurn Bernardini and Tom Rogers ’73, and presentation of this year’s Alumni Award to recipient Leonard Majzlin ’57.
The rest of the day included events and attractions for all ages: a master class with Len entitled Exploring “Interactive” – The Buzzword of the Twenty-First Century; alumni lunches; a student-faculty panel about the new curriculum for George School’s Signature Academic Program; a family fun zone complete with bouncy castles, toys, and giant checker boards for kids; reunion class photos, the All-School Art Show; a George School admission presentation; and memorial meeting for worship.
The first-ever All-Alumni Party also took over the Fitness and Athletics Center that evening where generations of alumni and friends celebrated together over dinner and dessert to create more cherished memories.
George School was thrilled to welcome alumni and friends back home again to campus for its first in-person Alumni Weekend since 2019. Relive the magic with the photo slideshow below!
