Kim Stone ’96 Named Varsity Field Hockey Coach

George School is pleased to welcome Kim Stone ’96 back to campus as Varsity Field Hockey Coach for the 2023 season.

Kim attended Lafayette College where she competed at the Division One level as a two-sport athlete, playing field hockey and lacrosse. During her athletic career at Lafayette, she served as field hockey team captain for two seasons and helped lead Lafayette to the NCAA Division One Sweet Sixteen Tournament berth in 1999 with an overall record of 19-2 and 7-0 in the Patriot League. In 2019, she was inducted into the Lafayette College Field Hockey and Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

After graduating from Lafayette College with her Bachelor of Arts in Art in 2000, Kim served as assistant field hockey coach at Lafayette for the 2000-01 season, including coaching the team on a summer tour in the Netherlands. She has also served as a coach for Nike, Shippensburg, and Newtown Field Hockey Camps.

Kim earned her Master of Science in Interior Design and Architecture from Drexel University in 2008. She owns a residential construction company in Newtown with her husband.

“We are fortunate to welcome Kim back to George School in this role,” said Director of Athletics Kurt Ruch. “Kim brings an appreciation and understanding of the school’s values to her coaching philosophy. We look forward to seeing the team compete this fall.”

“I feel honored to return to George School, and I would like to thank Athletic Director Kurt Ruch for providing me with the opportunity to return to a place that means so much,” said Kim. “The George School athletic fields have shaped many aspects of my life as an athlete and the person I am today. I am grateful for the opportunity to return to the community, and excited for the experiences with the team that lie ahead. I look forward to returning to the field and working with the team, as we prepare for our journey towards success. Go Cougars!”
