Lauren Hanna ’21 Commits to Play Soccer at Hamilton

Lauren Hanna ’21 committed to play women’s soccer at Hamilton University for coach Colette Gilligan. As a George School Cougar, Lauren has been a four-year varsity starter on the varsity girls’ soccer team and has been an outstanding leader for her teammates.

“Lauren has been a constant fixture on our team’s backline throughout the entirety of her career. She has a passion for the game and a work ethic that is unmatched,” said Ginna Lewing, George School varsity girls’ soccer head coach. “She is a tenacious defender with an ability to be dynamic with the ball at her feet and has been recognized as a Friends Schools All-League standout. Lauren has not only been a tremendous asset to the varsity soccer program, but she is also an outstanding ambassador for George School.”

“One of the best things about playing sports at George School is getting to meet people that I may not normally meet, and then getting to work with them on a daily basis,” said Lauren, who plays on both the varsity girls’ soccer and basketball teams at George School. In addition to her Cougar and club sports teams, Lauren plays spike ball and bowls as part of campus clubs. Her leadership roles include serving as a tour guide, peer group leader, and leader of Art for Relief and the Special Olympics Clubs.
