Track Shines at Ursinus High School Invitational

The indoor track season officially kicked off this past weekend and a number of talented Cougars on the varsity boys’ and varsity girls’ track teams had a great start to their season. Eleven boys and six girls set new personal records at one of the biggest meets of the week—the Ursinus High School Invitational at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, December 7, 2019.

Abby Eisold ’20 completed the 55-meter hurdles in 8.76, taking third place at the Invitational, and qualifying for the prestigious Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association meet in February. Abby also placed eleventh for the long jump (15-11). Susanne Kowalska ’21 placed nineteenth in the 55-meter hurdles in 10.26 during the preliminary round.

Walter Wagude ’20 took second place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:08.24. Jackson Swartz ’21 was seventh for the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:20.02. The distance medley team of Sebi Vinhais ’21, Andrew Wu ’20, Walter, and Zane Wasicko ’22 took thirteenth place with a time of 13:01.45. Morris Chang ’21 took eleventh place for the 55-meter hurdles in 9.85.
