Varsity Equestrian Team Makes Big Strides at IEA Regionals

George School’s varsity equestrian team tied for second place at the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Regional Competition.

George School’s varsity equestrian team tied for second place at the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Regional Competition, setting a George School record. “This is the best the varsity team has ever done in the team competition,” said Tiffany Taylor, equestrian director. “In addition to the team success, we had three riders who placed well enough in their individual classes to move on to IEA Zone Finals.”

The students moving on to Zone Finals are Leila Smith ’21, Marisa Kalafer ’20, and Olivia Hansbury ’21. In addition to the team’s success, four George School horses were also used in the competition.

Zone Finals will take place March 30 and 31, 2019 at Swan Lake Stable in Littlestown, Pennsylvania.

George School is a private, co-ed, boarding and day high school located in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Nearly 50 percent of George School students receive tuition aid. To learn more about George School, including our financial and merit aid programs, visit www.georgeschool.org.
