Employment Opportunities

George School is more than a school, it’s a community.

George School was founded in 1893 by Quakers, a religious group that became well known for taking uncommon stands. Over the years, they have fought for the abolition of slavery, prison reform, the rights of the mentally ill, and the rights of individuals to conscientiously object against warfare. We don’t try to turn students or employees into Quakers, but the school’s emphasis on the individual has a spiritual basis that we hope infuses our decisions, our activities, and our relationships.

Varsity Boys’ Head Lacrosse Coach

The George School Athletic Department seeks a passionate, entrepreneurial, and hard-working individual who is energized by working with athletes to serve as the Varsity Boys’ Head Lacrosse coach for Spring 2018. School lacrosse practices are Monday–Friday, 3:00–5:30 p.m. Game day schedules vary with a few Saturday games for varsity teams. The weekly time commitment for the part-time head coach is roughly 15–20 hours each week, including both practices and games. The successful candidate will possess skills and experience that would include the ability to:

  • collaborate on and implement practice plans and game strategies
  • maintain the coaching and educational philosophy consistent with George School and the Athletic Department
  • communicate with parents about player progress, schedule changes, and any other pertinent information

Candidates will embrace the school’s mission and educational philosophy; must be willing to work in a team environment and be positive, inspirational, and family-centered. Candidates should have coaching and/or competitive playing experience and a passion for the game. Stipend is competitive.

Please email Boys’ Athletic Director George Long at glong@georgeschool.org (include position, first, and last name in the subject line).
