Ziyou (Milano) Hu ’21 is the 2019 recipient of the annual American Chemical Society award at George School.

Chemistry teachers designate one AP Chemistry student each year to receive an honorary certificate for excellence in the study of chemistry. The student must have a B+ average or higher and demonstrate proficiency with a variety of laboratory techniques, strong problem-solving skills, scientific curiosity and creativity, ability to collaborate effectively with others, and an interest in learning for its own sake.

AP Chemistry teacher Alyssa McGarvey describes Milano as “a scientist with a burning desire to understand the ‘why’ behind every natural law or assertion and the willingness to re-visit, re-think, and re-work her understanding of chemical concepts.”

Milano will receive her award next week. Congratulations!
