Student Filmmakers Heading to Tribeca

Students in Scott Seraydarian’s ’90 advanced film class, Melaina Young’s ’93 IB HL American literature class, and Meredith Alford’s ’01 IB global politics class, joined forces to create films for the Speak Truth Video Competition sponsored by Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Human Rights. It was George School’s first year entering the competition, and all four submissions made the final round.

George School Takes Home Two NCECA Awards

Claire Schmucker ’20 and George School ceramic teacher, Amedeo Salmoni, each took home a prize from The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts by the National K-12 Clay Exhibition Foundation on March 27.

Student Work Featured in Exhibition

Several George School student artworks were selected for the 24th Annual High School Art Exhibition at Bucks County Community College. Notably, Ryan Doyle ’19 was awarded the 3-D prize for his table created in Advanced Woodworking and Design.

Dance Eclectic Comes to Walton

This year, Dance Eclectic will take place on April 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. The performance features ten original works from student choreographers, several of which are International Baccalaureate (IB) submissions.

Claire Schmucker ’20 Accepted to National Exhibition

Claire Schmucker ’20 was accepted into the National K-12 Ceramics Exhibition with two wood-fired ceramic pieces, Coiled Vase and Altered Tea Bowl. The National K-12 Ceramics Exhibition received more than 1,000 entries this year, and only one hundred and fifty were selected to exhibit.

Side Show Comes to Walton

Based on the true story of Violet (Hana Sparks Woodford ’20) and Daisy (Lauren Scott ’20) Hilton, Side Show is a portrait of conjoined twins whose extraordinary journey through life brought them fame but denied them love.

Kabir Chopra ’09 Rising New York Star

Kabir Chopra ’09 recently starred in the off-Broadway hit Queen at the Astoria Performing Arts Center in New York. Queen tells the story of two female scientists, Sanam and Ariel, who have spent the past seven years researching vanishing bee populations across the globe.

Students Volunteer and Attend BroadwayCon

BroadwayCon is a three-day fan convention for the Broadway and theater community held in New York City. The convention was started in 2016 by the original members of the cast of RENT. It has since become an annual meeting for directors, producers, actors, musicians, dancers, and more to attend panels and workshops, meet cast members, and share their appreciation for theater.
