The George School varsity girls’ lacrosse team defeated Abington Friends School 18-12 to win the Friends Schools League Quaker Cup semi-final game on Thursday, May 9, 2019. The team travels to Friends Central School for the final game on Saturday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m.
“Alexandra Long ’20 had a spectacular game with five goals, two assists and three caused turnovers led the way in a strong two-way performance from the Cougars in the Quaker Cup semifinals on Thursday,” reported the Bucks County Courier Times. Emily Matson ’20 scored five goals and Sara Matson ’20 scored three goals.
“Congrats to varsity girls’ lacrosse! Despite being low in numbers due to sickness and injury, the team played an exciting and intense game against AFS yesterday,” said Nancy Bernardini, head coach.
