Dance Eclectic, the annual performance by George School’s dance class, returns on April 13 and 14, 2018.
“Dance Eclectic has some powerful student pieces,” said Barb Kibler, dance instructor. “Some are based on bullying, some are based on rising up.”
The theme for this year’s show is Pale Blue Dot. “This was my focus after I was inspired by the NASA Voyager program and listened to Carl Sagan’s writings on the Pale Blue Dot,” said Barb. “The choreography speaks to how we have only one planet to live on and we have to make it work. At the end of his writings he says, ‘To me it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we have ever known.’”
You can catch Dance Eclectic in Walton Auditorium beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Both shows are free and open to the public.
