Kachi Nzeh ’23 and Christian Bliss ’24 Named to 2022 All-State Basketball Teams

Kachi Nzeh ’23, a 6-foot-8 point guard, and Christian Bliss ’24, a 6-4 sophomore wing guard, were named to the all-state boys’ basketball teams in the non-PIAA schools classification on Monday, May 2, 2022. They spearheaded the George School varsity team to a 15-5 season finish. Kachi, who has several college scholarship offers, was named to the first team non-PIAA squad. Bliss was a second-team selection.

During the PA vs NJ Shootout Tournament on September 18, 2021, the Cougars beat nationally-ranked Gill St Bernard, a team that boasts both the number one player in the Class of 2024 and the number three player in the Class of 2023. They also defeated regional powerhouse teams Archbishop Wood High School 66-65 at the Diane Mosco Foundation Shootout on December 18, 2021, and Trenton Catholic Academy 66-63 on January 31, 2022.

“I can’t say enough about them and what they did for this team,” Head Coach Ben Luber said. “They did some things on the basketball court that were just unbelievable.”

Ben was named the 2021-22 non-PIAA co-Coach of the Year. His honor that he shared with Westtown’s Seth Berger, capped another banner season.

“I’m shocked, and I’m happy,” Ben said. “This is a tremendous honor and I have to share it with George School, the school administration and staff, my players, and my family. I did not do this alone. I have a load of people to thank for this. “Matt Lopez, my assistant coach, deserves a lot of credit. He helped keep everything going.”
