New Outdoor Community Space

On Monday, March 13, construction began on a new community space inspired and generously funded by Brian Wise ‘93, a member of the George School Board.

Recognizing our desire to rebuild community post-pandemic, and in advance of finalizing the Master Plan for George School, Brian has donated funds for the construction of a firepit and gathering space. His gift will honor the thirtieth reunion of the Class of 1993 this spring. To be located between Marshall and Main, the expanded firepit will serve as a year-round gathering spot for students, faculty and staff, and alumni. Its placement is intended to create a hub connecting the academic, social, and residential lives of the school.

Construction for the Class of 1993 Firepit will continue through May 6. In the interest of safety, please be mindful of the space during this time. The official dedication for the Class of 1993 Firepit is scheduled for Alumni Weekend, Saturday, May 6 at 1:30 p.m. All students, families, faculty, and staff are invited to join our alumni and share in this community celebration. We are grateful for Brian’s funding of this project and for all he does for George School.
