Mike Bailey

Athletic Director for Auxiliary & Recreation Programs, Coach, Dorm Parent
Mike enjoys teaching students to be good athletes and good people.

What do you think is special about athletics at George School?

The George School community cares about helping our students learn about being good people who will change those around them. Our sports facilities allow our coaches to produce great student-athletes and open up opportunities to participate at the next level.

What is your coaching style?

I believe in creating an atmosphere where student-athletes can expand their comfort zones. Because we expose them to smaller drills and teach them why we do these phases, student-athletes become excited and aware of their own mind and body as they experiment with new challenges. This builds their self-confidence and speeds up their growth.

I love watching student-athletes have ah-ha moments—when they realize they’re good at something they never thought they could do.

What would you tell prospective families about George School?

George School is for those who want to be part of a community that tries to change the world for the better.
