George School is tremendously excited to announce that after conducting a national search which generated a pool of extremely well-qualified candidates, Jaime Zamparelli Abramov will join the community as our new Director of Development.

George School Art Teacher Showcases Work in Juried Exhibit

The work of Amedeo Salamoni, George School ceramics and sculpture teacher and Anderson/Walton Galleries coordinator, is being featured at Saratoga Clay Arts Center’s national juried exhibition, Playing with Fire: Altered Atmospheres, through April 24, 2021 in the Schacht Gallery.

Alumni Talents Lead to National Ceramics Exhibit

Three recent George School alums were selected to exhibit their ceramics artwork in the prestigious National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition, an annual juried ceramic competition for students in the United States.

George School Writers and Artists Receive Scholastic Honors

George School students took home sixty Scholastic Art and Writing prizes in the 2021 Regional Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, announced on January 28, 2021. Eleven students received Gold Key awards, reserved for the most outstanding student writers and artists in the Pennsylvania region

Head of School and Honor Roll Lists Announced

The Head of School’s list recognizes a student’s commitment to excellence in attitude, effort, initiative, and preparation. To be named to the Head of School’s List students must be nominated by at least five teachers. To earn a spot on the Honor Roll list, students must receive no grade lower than a B or an overall B+ average with no grade below a C.

College Counseling Announces Spring Events

George School’s College Counseling team is hosting an online college tour this spring. The event is designed to help students with college selection throughout the ongoing pandemic. “The college application process is difficult in a normal year,” said Beth Ann Burkmar, Director of College Counseling.

Healing Dialogue Through Monologue

On Friday, February 19th and Saturday, February 20th, 2021 George School theater students performed Talking With…, a play consisting of monologues ranging from laugh-out-loud funny to others hard to listen to.
