Summer Academy Workshop Explores Concise and Creative Writing
The new Summer Academy Writing Workshop, led by George School English teacher Chris King, gave students the chance to read and write in a completely new way. The three-week course allowed students to dive into different aspects of creative writing, including fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.
George School Administers More Than 4,000 Covid-19 Tests
During the second semester of the 2020-2021 school year, George School implemented a bi-weekly testing program for students and employees. The program ran from January through May, and more than 4,000 tests were conducted.
Scott Seraydarian ’90 Publishes Curse of the Crystal Cavern
The Pathfinders are off on another adventure in their newest graphic novel, “The Curse of the Crystal Cavern,” co-authored by Prescott (Scott) Seraydarian ’90, George School Film teacher.
Scott and writing partner Fransesco Sedita will discuss their new book at a virtual event sponsored by the Doylestown Bookshop and Mercer Museum on the day of its release, Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 6:00 p.m.
Six George School Students Commit to College Athletics
Six seniors from the Class of 2021 have committed to college athletic programs. The student athletes—in four different sports—celebrated their commitment to pursue their passion at the college level next year. In a ceremony held in the Fitness and Athletics Center, each senior was recognized by their families, coaches, teammates, and friends on Friday, May 21, 2021.
George School Student Films Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival
Two George School student films—”Healing Justice” and “Hero for Humanity”—premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. They tied for third place in the prestigious RFK Speak Truth to Power video contest. sponsored by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organization.
Shannon McGinnis ’17 Wins Multiple Athletic Awards
George School alum Shannon McGinnis ’17 was awarded the Smith College Pioneer Powerhouse Athlete of the Year award as well as being named to the Marly Pineda Team. While at George School, Shannon played varsity soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and field hockey.
Class of 2021 Heads to Colleges and Universities Across the Globe
After submitting 1,410 applications, George School’s Class of 2021, comprised of one hundred twenty-five brilliant young minds, will journey to eighty-two different institutions in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom this fall.
Class of 2021 Commencement Highlights
On Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. George School celebrated the members of the Class of 2021 during the school’s one hundred and twenty-seventh Commencement Ceremony. Head of School Sam Houser welcomed the seniors and their friends and families.
