George School Reimagines Academic Program

George School is reimagining and implementing a new vision for its academic program that is grounded in the deepest commitment to help students—as the school mission statement says— “let their lives speak.”

A New Twist on Writing

English teacher Chris King imagines a new course in nonfiction writing for students as part of the George School Signature Academic Program scheduled to start in the 2022-2023 school year. Titled “Let Your Life Speak” and based on the essential George School mission, the class will explore short-term nonfiction and learn how brevity can strengthen the power of prose.

Friends Schools Partner for Virtual Seminar

George School is thrilled to partner with Moorestown Friends School, Germantown Friends School, and Newtown Friends School to offer a seminar led by Jen Cort on Tuesday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m.

George School Hosts 68th Annual Cross-Country Invitational

On Saturday, September 25, 2021, the George School Cougars hosted the 68th annual George School Cross-Country Invitational. A total of five hundred and thirteen athletes from eighteen neighboring public and independent high schools traveled to Newtown to compete.

Family Visiting Day 2021

Parents and other family members are invited to attend Family Visiting Day on campus on Saturday, October 16 to learn about their child’s academic program at George School. Advisor Consultation and mini class schedules for families will be available on the Portal at my.georgeschool.org beginning Friday morning, October 15 at 10:00 a.m. EDT.

Virtual Fall Open House

George School is hosting a virtual fall Open House on Sunday, October 24 at 1:30 p.m. EST. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the Admission Team, current students, parents, faculty, and staff during this year’s virtual event.

IB and AP Test Results Remain High

Thirty George School students were awarded IB diplomas in May 2021. One student scored a forty-one out of forty-five possible points, a particularly high score, according to IB Coordinator, Kim McGlynn. George School’s ten-year diploma pass rate remains 95 percent, which is far above the global average of 89 percent.
