Courageous Conversations Series Coming to George School

George School’s Parent Inclusion Committee, in partnership with Rachel Williams, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and Julye M. Williams, Founder of Project 2043, are excited to host a six-part Courageous Conversations series for parents and adults in the George School community. 

Community Welcomes One Hundred and Sixty-Five New Students

A new school year began on August 30, 2021, and for the first time in more than a year, George School opened for full in-person learning. New to the school are one-hundred and sixty-five students from five continents, eighteen different countries, and fifteen different states.

Two Faculty Members Earn PBS Media Literacy Educator Certification by KQED

George School faculty members Meredith Baldi ’01 and Scott Seraydarian ’90 recently earned PBS Media Literacy Educator Certification by KQED. To earn this certification, Meredith and Scott demonstrated expertise in teaching students to think critically about their role as media consumers and creators and training other teachers to do so.

Exhibit Honoring Refugees Debuts in Walton Gallery

“The Power of Faces” photography exhibit opens in Walton Gallery on Monday, August 30. This gallery, features photographs by Daniel Farber Huang p ’22, and focuses on the global refugee crisis. Daniel, his wife Teresa Menders, and their daughter Celeste Huang-Menders ’22, travel across the world taking pictures of and for refugees.

Brandon Hullings Named Aquatics Director

The George School Athletics Department is pleased to announce seasoned aquatics coach, Brandon Hullings, as the new Aquatics Director effective August 2021. “Brandon brings deep swimming and coaching experience,” said Athletics Director, Kurt Ruch.

New Class Schedule Announced for the 2021-2022 School Year

George School is pleased to announce a new student-centered daily schedule beginning August 30, 2021. The new schedule is based on extensive research on what is best for adolescent learning and well-being. It will feature four classes per day for 75-minute periods in an 8-day rotation.
