Jacob Bright ’21 was selected to feature his digital image, Bright Black Swan, at the Pennsylvania Center for Photography through November 17, 2019. “It just presented itself and I was lucky enough to capture it,” said Jacob. “It was not until later that I was struck by the unrealistically good composition of the image.”

2019-2020 Theater Season Opens with Noises Off

The 2019-2020 George School theater season opens with Michael Frayn’s hilarious comedy Noises Off. The play comes to Walton Center on Friday, November 8, 2019 and Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. Both shows are free and open to the public. Set during the rehearsals, backstage during a performance, and then during a calamitous show, Noises Off chronicles the hilarious escapades of a touring cast of a farcical fictitious play, Nothing On.

Cougars 4-0 in Math Madness Competition

The George School math team took on the Fremont High School Firebirds from Sunnyvale California in a live Math Madness competition on Thursday, October 31, 2019.

Field Hockey Captures Quaker Cup

The George School varsity field hockey team defeated Friends Select School 5-0 to win the Quaker Cup. The Cougars were aggressive from the start, knowing that their regular season game against the Falcons ended in a hard-fought 1-1 tie.

Nobel Prize winner and George School graduate, Dr. Mario Capecchi ’56, recently visited campus to teach science classes and meet with students. Mario’s research and work on gene targeting in mice is renowned in the field of science.

Vanishing Dice Murder: Urban Crime in Rural Pennsylvania , is based on a true homicide investigation from south-central Pennsylvania. Steve was appointed to represent the defendant and recounts the entire trial in the book.

Students Present Projects During IB Science Symposium

During this year’s IB Science Symposium on Thursday, October 10, 2019, students presented their projects on the topic of Food for Thought. The projects are a requirement for IB diploma candidates and are completed during junior or senior year.
