Cougars Set Records at State Track and Field Championships

The George School Cougars set new records at the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association meet on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Abby Eisold ’20 set a new state record of 14.98 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and Sanaa Hebron ’22 set a state title in the 400-meter race at 56.93 seconds. Several athletes on both the boys’ and the girls’ teams set new personal records.

Lessons from Seventeen Years of Teaching Robotics

In 2002, physics teacher Chris Odom taught George School’s first robotics class with a curriculum of his own invention. In the ensuing seventeen years, Chris authored several robotics textbooks and developed a curriculum taught at George School and around the world.

Varsity Softball Finishes the Season 12-4

The varsity girls’ softball season came to an end on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 with a 6-5 loss to Friends Select School in the Friends Schools League (FSL) semi-final game. The Cougars finished the year with a 12-4 season record.

George School film students won four out of the five awards at the Twentieth Annual Bridge Film Festival on Friday, May 3, 2019. The Cougars received the awards for Documentary, Public Service Announcement, New Media, and the coveted Spirit of the Festival films.

Cougars Defeat Abington Friends 18-12

The George School varsity girls’ lacrosse team defeated Abington Friends School 18-12 to win the Friends Schools League Quaker Cup semi-final game on Thursday, May 9, 2019. The team travels to Friends Central School for the final game on Saturday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m.

Beyond Meat, a plant-based meat company founded by Ethan Brown ’89, has been making headlines and history after going public on May 2, 2019. Ethan founded Beyond Meat in 2009 to address his growing concerns about the harmful impact of meat production on the environment, animals, and human health.
