Junior Night with College Counseling

George School’s College Counseling team has been working tirelessly to make sure students continue to get the guidance they need amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Recently, the department hosted Junior Night with College Counseling, a virtual event for juniors and their families to discuss navigating the application process throughout the pandemic. 

Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

George School is elated to announce that Shiyong (David) Xi ’21 and Ellen Zhang ’21 were named semifinalists this fall in the Sixty-Sixth National Merit Scholarship Program. Seven other seniors—Ryan Bencivengo ’21, Ziyou (Milano) Hu ’21, Siyuan (Justin) Liu ’21, Aniketh Phalcomepely ’21, Jackson Swartz ’21, Ilinca Vilceanu ’21, and Sean Whalen ’21— received National Merit Letters of Commendation. Chris Toala ’21 was selected as a National Recognition Program: Hispanic Scholar.

Curious George Launches Fall Edition

George School’s student newspaper, Curious George, is back again with its first edition for the 2020-2021 school year. The club quickly made the switch to digital last spring due to the pandemic and has continued publishing in the digital format ever since.

A Virtual Look: Artistry of Awegys

Open in Walton Gallery and below online is Artistry of Awegys: Paintings by Ugandan Youth. A virtual gallery talk and reception is planned for 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021. The acrylic on pulled bark canvas paintings were created by student-artists who attend Awegys Secondary School in Kigo, Uganda.

George School Shares 2019-2020 Annual Report

George School shared the 2019-2020 Annual Report with members of the community this week. It was a remarkable year both in student and faculty achievements and also in the support the school received from the community.
